Clock Elm Burr
This 10 cm clock (face) sits in a remarkably beautiful piece of Elm burr. The top is jagged and rough from the multiple immature shoots of the tree as a result of the burr formation. This is just under the bark of the tree. The cause of a burr remains a mystery but results in some amazing features in the wood. The front and back surfaces have a satin finish and show some really pretty markings. This would make a beautiful gift.
Each piece that I make is made with much thought, care and attention to the design, the finish, and the overall look.
Wood responds to the environment in which it is stored. Placing near to a heat source or in a sunny window may cause it to crack as it dries out. An occasional dust with a good quality polish or wax will help it maintain its natural beauty. Wood is NOT dishwater safe. Wipe with a damp cloth only.
